Département : Seine-et-Marne
French |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The symbolic is clear from French history: the salamander was Francois I's badge, he built the castle. It was one of Napoleon's favorite residences, whence the canton with the letter N (reserved for 2nd class Imperial cities) and the eagle. The river on the fess alludes to the name of the town, which means beautiful spring.
