Distinctive Unit Insignia: On a gold metal device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a blue and red pentagon divided by a lightning flash from upper left to lower right overall a purple dragon in a frontal rising position wings displayed tail curved point to right attached below the pentagon a purple scroll doubled base metal folded five times with the center fold inscribed “FRONS CURSOR” in gold letters.
Origin/meaning
Shield: The pentagon is a symbol of the military establishment and the five points represent the elements of Information Operations: operation security, electronic warfare, military information support to operations, computer network operations and military deception. Blue stands for intelligence and red for determination. The lightning flash signifies speed. The purple dragon, a blend of blue and red mixed, signifies courage. The dragon is rising indicating the will to go above and beyond. Crest: The crest is that of the United States Army Reserve.
