Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: A shield-shaped device with arced scroll attached above the shield all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) gold border, the overall dimensions 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 7/16 inches (6.19 cm) in width; on a red shield a green representation of the Alhambra citadel surmounted by a gold scimitar; on a red arced scroll the inscription “ALHAMBRA” in gold letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.
Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a gold lion’s head and encircled in base by a red scroll inscribed “UNITY-PRIDE” in gold letters.
Origin/meaning
Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 2 April 1980. It was amended on 16 December 1980 to change the color gold to golden yellow.
Shoulder Loop Insignia: The school colors are gold and red. The lion symbolizes strength and courage, and the motto “UNITY-PRIDE” reflects close cohesion and high self esteem. The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 18 July 1984.
