Description: On a shield 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in width blazoned: Per fess Gules and Or a covered wagon Brown garnished Argent below in chief a bar dancetty of the second inscribed “WEST” in Maroon letters all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Maroon border. |
Origin/meaning
Maroon and yellow are the school colors. The covered wagon symbolizes the pioneer spirit of the west and suggests the school mascot. The cadets support that spirit through dedication and service to their school, community and country. The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 6 November 1998.
