RAF STATION CRANWELL, ROYAL AIR FORCE

History: Formed in April 1918.

An eagle wings expanded and inverted Or perched on a rock proper.
Motto: Alitum altrix = Nurturer of the winged.

Origin/meaning

The function of the unit is to watch over and protect personnel being trained there. The badge illustrates this objective. The badge was granted in September 1948.
