Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1968 to the Valbo härad and are based on elements from the old seals of the district. As Färgelanda and Högsäter, none of which had arms, were been amalgamated into one municipality in 1974, it was decided in 1980 to adopt the arms of the district for the municipality, as it geographically covers approximately the same area. The harrow is a symbol of agriculture.
