WECKOLSHEIM
Département : Haut-Rhin
French |
D'argent à trois poids de gueules; au chef du même chargé d'un château flanqué de deux tours couvertes d'or, pavillonnées d'argent, ouvert et ajouré de gueules, maçonné de sable. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted and designed in 1976.
The base shows the arms of the Lords of Weckolsheim, as shown in Vieux-Brisach and dating from the 14th century. As no colours were known, the red and silver of the Ribeaupierre estate were taken. The village belonged to the Ribeaupierre estate from 1495-1789. The chief shows the local small castle, which was burned down during the 30-years war.
