Origin/meaning

The cross is an obvious Christisn symbol. The colours red and silver are the colours of Indonesia. The oak branches are taken from the arms of Made en Drimmelen, where the bishop was born. The inescutcheon shows the arms of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, to which he belonged.
