Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 2, 1997.

The cross is a traditional sign of the local arms, with the Alpha and the Omega symbolizing that Christ is the beginning and end of everything. The grapes are a canting sign, which allude to the name of the village in a popular etymology: Avinyó reminds the "vinya" (Catalan for "vineyard").
