Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Portugal - Brasões dos municípios portugueses |
BESTEIROS
Municipality : Paredes
District : Porto
Official blazon
Escudo de ouro, gavela de espigas de trigo de verde, atada de vermelho, entre quatro bestas de púrpura, cordoadas e realçadas de prata. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro: “ BESTEIROS - PAREDES “.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 22, 2002.
The four crossbows (bestas) are a canting element, as the history of the name of the parish has to do with crossbows. The wheat ears refer to the agricultural character and the fertile soil in the parish.
