State : Salzburg
District : Salzburg-Umgebung

Wappen von Elixhausen/Arms (crest) of Elixhausen
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 15, 1973.

The village historically belonged to the Benedictan convent of Nonnberg. The lower half thus shows the building taken from the arms of the convent. The upper half shows an abbess as the name Elixhausen is derived from Ebedisunhusa, or House of the Abbess.
