NOGENT-SUR-OISE
Origin/meaningThe silver bend refers to the Oise river. The thistle is the symbol of Scotland and refers to the local patron saint, St. Bridget (of Ireland... not Scotland). The fleur-de-lys is the French royal symbol and refers to the fact that King Saint Louis IX once passed through the village.
