Vert between four maple leaves a lightning bolt and a key in saltire, the centre composed of two annulets forming a sphere Or, the whole encircled by an annulus Vert fimbriated and inscribed INFORMATION OPERATIONS GROUP • GROUPE DES OPÉRATIONS D'INFORMATION in letters Or.
Motto: PROFICERE ET PROTEGERE.

Origin/meaning

The maple leaves represent the Canadian Forces and the fact that information is received from and sent in all directions. The green field denotes the early days of the unified Canadian Forces. The key symbolizes protection of information, while the lightning bolt represents communication and electronic warfare. The device at the centre is composed of two circles from a goniometer, which represents the original supplementary radio system. The Motto translates as "Exploit and protect".

The badge was approved by the Canadian Heraldic Authority on June 1, 2001.
