Origin/meaning
This coa is a lion against a fortified tower on water.the water is due to its geographical location at the time Romans settled there and built the first walls of Dax (Aquae Tarbellicae) and made it a very prosperous river harbor. The tower represent the fortified city Dax was, and the lion is the symbol of Aquitaine, the province in which the city is situated.
