- (2018) In blauem Schild unter silbernem, mit zwei Paar gekreuzten schwarzen Säbeln belegtem Schildhaupt drei silberne, aus einem golden gezinnten Schildfuß wachsende Türme, der mittlere kleinere mit einem Zeltdach und schwarz durchbrochenen Spitzbogenfenster, die beiden seitlichen mit Zwiebelhelmen und je drei (1:2) schwarz durchbrochenen Spitzbogenfenstern versehen.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on 5 June, 1972 and (in slightly different colours) on May 17, 2018.
Straden lies in South-Eastern Styria. The people of this region often had to fight off (or flee from) invaders, be they Hungarians, Turks or the Yugoslav army of the 20th century. This sad fact gave the arms its chief.
The field depicts the churches of Straden which can be seen from afar.
