CANNY-SUR-MATZ
Département: Oise
French | D'azur à la bande ondée d'argent accompagnée de deux roseaux à massette feuillés d'or; au franc-quartier de gueules à l'archange saint Michel contourné d'or tuant de sa lance un dragon de même armé du champ. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The wavy bend symbolises the Matz river. The reeds are a canting element (roseau in Frence, but canna in Latin and many local French dialects uses a word similar to canna). The free quarter shows St. Michael, the local patron saint.
