Escudo de prata, com um cavalo de sua cor, brincão e empinado; em chefe, flor-de-lis de azul; dispostos em orla e com os pés assados em aspa na campanha e atados de vermelho, dois ramos, um de espigas de trigo e outro de oliveira, de verde e frutado de negro. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro: “ FREGUESIA DE ALTER DO CHÃO “.
