Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 18, 1944. The Reindeer symbolises Reindeer breading in the Northern part of the Municipality. It is also taken from the Seal of the Parish of Särna.
Idre was formed by partition from Särna. The Wavy fesses symbolises the origings of the Rivers Österdalälven and Västerdalälven in the Storån repective Fuluån.
