KOSKENPÄÄ
Region : Keski-Suomi
Former province : 1997-2009 Länsi-Suomi, 1960-1997 Keski-Suomi
Incorporated into : 1969 Jämsänkoski (2009 Jämsä)
Official blazon
Puna-hopeakatkoisessa kilvessä reunuksittain vuorovärinen ketju ja yläkentässä hopeinen vesipyörän yläpuolisko.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on May 16, 1962.
The wheel symbolises the use of the local rivers for hydro-electric power. The chain is a common symbol for the mother parish of <a href=j/jamsa|Jämsä]], Jämsänkoski and Koskenpää, and is thus used by all three municipalities in their arms.
