SPIŠSKÝ HRUŠOV

Province : Košice
District (okres) : Spišská Nova Ves

Spišský Hrušov (Erb, znak)

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms are granted on June 2, 1993.

The arms are based on the 19th century seal of the village and show a canting pear tree (hruška). The name and the arms are based on a legend of the existence of a pear tree on a nearby hill that had magical powers. The tree no longer exists but it gave rise to the towns name.
