SANT PERE DE RIUDEBITLLES
Region : Catalonia
Province : Barcelona
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 13th November 1995.
The crossed keys are the symbol of St. Peter, the patron saint of the village. The sprig of watercress above is a canting sign: the town is placed by the Riu de Bitlles, and the etymology of this river comes from Latin BIRLAS (derived from BERULAS), meaning "watercress" (or Nasturtium officinale), a plant that grows in pure waters.
