Official blazon

  • (town) I blått fält en av vågskuror bildad bjälke, åtföljd ovanför av en våg och nedanför av en båt, allt i silver.
  • (city and municipality) Medelst vågskuror två gånger av blått, silver och rött styckad sköld, i första fältet ett järnmärke och i tredje en balkvis ställd yxa, båda av silver.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 21, 1938 to Domnarvet (see there) and and continued by Borlänge City (1944) and Borlänge Municipality (1971)

Borlänge town had received arms on February 20, 1942, but after the merger in 1944 the town arms were no longer used.
