Escudo de Adra

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 26, 1987.

Adra was founded in the 8th century BC by the Phoenicians, who gave it the name Abdera. The arms are based on a ancient coin, discovered in the late 19th century. The arms show a temple with two fish (tuna ?) and the historical name of the town.
