Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The Council does not have an officially granted coat of arms but the Chairman's Badge of Office has a similar function.
The design is made up of symbols representative of the Council's area, and starting at the top are:
A chequered diamond (representing "Chequers" the country home of British Prime Minister).
An oak tree (representing the use of the oak in cabinet making particularly, and in the furniture industry generally).
A semi-circle (symbolising the Chiltern Hills) with superimposed thereon, the Whiteleaf Cross.
Two wavy lines (symbolising the River Thames).
