The coat of Arms symbolises the Swedish Naval Forces and the Flying activity. Raised in 1965 as the 2nd Helicopter Squadron it was renumbered 12th Helicopter Squadron in 1994. In 1998 united with the Helicopters of the Air Force and the Army to form the Helicopter Wing.
