The arms of Blotzheim are known since the 17<sup>th</sup> century. The symbols were granted, as the sentence "Ora et Labora" (latin for "to pray and to work"), by Louis XIVth when he passed by Blotzheim and had a dinner in its castle. The symbols refer to the sentence, the cross for "Ora" and the set square for "Labora".
