Asheville, N.C. where the Battalion HQ is located. The Scales, Pistol and fasces are taken from the Military Police Regimental Coat of Arms.<br>
The three stars are taken to represent the Military Police Motto: Assist, Protect and Defend<br>
The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved on 1 September 2003.
