The Blue filed the Colour of Infantry symbolises the capability to secure and protect. The Tenné (Orange) of the Signal Corps symbolises the Signal capabilities. The Sanguine Field represent the Logistical capabilities. The Erupting Volcano symbolises the State of Hawaii the home station of the Battalion. The Lightning bolt is from the Shoulder Sleeve Insginia of the 25th Infantry Division. The rising Sun in the Crest alludes to the ten decorations awarded to the Battalion, including a Philippine Presidental Unit Citation and two Republic of Korea Presidental Unit Citation. The three Palm leaves indicates the three major conflicts the Battalion has participated in - World War II, Korea and Vietnam. The Easten Dragon represents the Pacific Rim where these engagements occured. | |||
The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia was both approved on 12 Janaury 2006. The Symbolism was changed on 8 February 2006. | |||
