The Coat of Arms and the Distinctive Unit Insignia was originally approved for the 140th Infantry Regiment on 17 May 1927. They was redesignated with blazon and symbolism revised for the 140th Missouri Regiment on 1 August 1997. The insignia was redesignated for the 140th Regiment on 23 January 2001.
