NOUSIAINEN
Region : Varsinais-Suomi
Former province : Länsi-Suomi (until 1997 Turku and Pori)
Official blazon
Punaisessa kentässä piispanistuimella istuva Pyhä Henrik, joka polkee jaloillaan kirves kädessä maassa makaavaa miestä (Lallia); kaikki kultaa.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 26, 1961.
The arms show the patron saint of Finland, Saint Henry (Henrik), who is also the patron for the Nousiainen stone church from the 1200s. St. Henry is depicted seated on his throne and trampling his killer Lalli.
