Region : Keski-Suomi
Former province : 1997-2009 Länsi-Suomi, 1960-1997 Keski-Suomi
Official blazon
Hopeakentässä kolme oksakoroista, musta-punakatkaista vastapalkkia.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on January 2, 1959.
The arms show three tree trunks in two colours. The arms symbolise the fact that the land used to be cleared by burning the trees to ashes. The burning is symbolised by the red colour, the remains by the black colour.
