Blason de Carling

Official blazon

Écartelé: au 1er d’azur à trois fleurs de lis d’or, au 2e de gueules au puits de mine d’or, au 3e de gueules à la tour réfrigérateur d’or, au 4e d’azur semé de croisettes d’argent et au lion du même, couronné et lampassé d’or.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 19, 1951.

The first quarter show s the fleur-de-lys of France, the fourth the lion of Nassau-Saarbrücken and refer to the fact that in 1770 the Counts of Nassau-Saarbrücken ceded the village to France. The two other quarters refer to the mining (mine building in second quarter) and industry (cooling tower in third quarter) in the municipality.
