Origin/meaning

The present arms were adopted on November 30, 2004.

The arms show a piece of coal, as coal mining is of great local importance. The bend shows a stylised local Khakassian ornament.

The previous arms were granted on February 18, 1987.

These arms also show a coal, and the traditonal ornaments, but also show a spindle in the base for the local textile factories. The chief shows the name of the town.
