CIUGUD

District/county (județ) : Alba

Stema Ciugud

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 15, 2014.

The wavy bar represents the Mureș river, which crosses the locality.

The ceramic vessel symbolizes the largest archaeological site from the first Iron Age, XI-VII centuries BC, discovered after excavations from 1978-1987, spread over an area of over 20 ha.

The bunch of ears evokes one of the basic occupations of the inhabitants, agriculture, and their number indicates the number of component villages of the municipality.

The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
