Origin/meaning
In the armiger's family, love for the homeland, for God and for the Catholic faith was nurtured. Members of the family fought in uprisings against the partitioners, in the First World War, the Wielkopolska Uprising and the Second World War, often dying for their homeland. The cross is of great importance to the Armiger's family, not only as a religious sign, but above all as an expression of faith in Divine Providence. That is why the cross was chosen as the main element of the coat of arms. In connection with the meaning of the surname Grzeszkowiak, which probably comes from the word "sinner" and the history of the family, the design of this coat of arms was created by the armiger and heraldic artist Tomasz Steifer. The cross piercing the head of the serpent symbolizes the victory of Christ over Satan and the liberation of humanity from death. The golden cross symbolises the Risen Christ and is a symbol of victory, heaven, light and divinity. The red colour of the shield is a symbol of fire, life, strength, power, beauty and goodness, and finally the Holy Spirit, martyrdom and love. The hill is Golgotha, the place of Christ's passion and death, and the grave of the first man, Adam. Since Christ's resurrection, Golgotha is no longer a grave, but a place of a new beginning - a new life. The green colour of the hill symbolises life, hope and rebirth from death. The Paschal Lamb in the jewel is a symbol of the Passion, death and resurrection of Christ and the Eucharist, a sign of victory over Satan and death. The three feathers in the jewel symbolise the Holy Trinity.
