in base and its shank crossing a horizontal wavy blue bar all in front of a gold sun of sixteen rays

means of successfully compelting difficult tasks, the sun signifying technical knowledge and selection, and the key the mechanical skills essential to maintenance.
The wavy blue bar refers to the Rhineland campaign in World War II, in which the unit participated as the 541st Quartermaster Battalion.
The Coat of Arms was approved on 22 January 1996 and the Distinctive Unit Insignia was originally approved for the 541st Quartermaster Battalion. It was redesignated for the 541st
Maintenance Battalion.
