Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Austria - Österreichische Gemeindewappen |
BAD DEUTSCH-ALTENBURG
State : Niederösterreich
District : Bruck an der Leitha
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on December 19, 1967.
The upper half shows a canting castle (Burg) and the local church. The base indicates that the area was already famous for its baths and springs during Roman times. Near the town are many Roman ruins to be found.
The arms replaced older arms, dating from 1928, which showed the same symbolism, but in a very non-heraldic style.
