STŘÍBRNÉ HORY
Province: Plzeňský Kraj
District (Okres) : Klatovy
Incorporated into : 1951 Nalžovské Hory
Czech
Origin/meaningThe arms show miner's tools as a symbol for the former silver mining near the town. The town, then named Silberberg in German (the Czech name means the same: silver mountain), was already mentioned as a town in 1520. Probably at the same time a seal was made, but there is no proof of that. The town arms do appear, however, already on a seal from 1577
