Origin/meaningThe oldest known seal of Lund dates from the mid 13th century and already shows the wall with three towers. All later seals and arms show the same image. The arms were officially granted in 1913 and confirmed in 1975. A city wall is a common symbol for medieval cities, but Lund never had a brick wall, only a wall made of sand and trees !
