Origin/meaning
The right half shows the lion of the arms of the France-Comté region. The upper left quarter shows an image of the local fountain. The lower left half refers to the marble quarries in the area. The marble has been used for the construction of bridges and structures in the Rhone-Rhine Canal, the Saône and the Doubs, or in private homes (stairs, fountains, chimneys).
