District/county (județ) : Ilfov
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 6, 2010.
The oak leaves represent the former Codrul Vlăsiei estate. The chevron signifies an element from the coat of arms of the Bibescu family of landowners.
The wavy bar symbolizes the ponds that are in the area, the main one being the one from Săftica, a village that belongs to the locality.
The head of cattle represents the basic occupation of the inhabitants, which is animal husbandry, and the presence of the Research-Development Institute for Balotești Cattle.
The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
