Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on June 17, 2021.
The blue half and the wavy division line refer to the Aveyron river. The sword with the cloak are the symbols for St. Martin of Tours, the local patron saint. The lion is taken from the arms of the Cardailhac family, one of the first known families that owned the local castle.
The bordure refers to the former city wall/fortification. It is gold to illustrate the wealth of the town due to its agriculture (as do the wheat ears around the shield). The azure cinquefoils represent the periwinkles (pervenches) that gave their name to the town. Each of the flowers represent a farm, hamlet or village in the municipality.
