Origin/meaning

The arms of Cléry-sur-Somme are directly inspired by those of the house of Créqui, but in different colours to distinguish the town arms from the family arms. The Lordship of Cléry, united with other fiefs, was set up as a county by letters patent of Louis XIII, dated January 15, 1623 in favor of of Charles de Créqui, lord of Bernieules, of Maurepas and other places.
