Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on September 12, 1955.
The red deer in the lower part of the arms symbolises the Schönbuch area, known for its rich nature. The chief symbolises the nickname of the inhabitants, Gerstenkinder, or barley-children. Hence the chief shows an ear or barley.
