Origin/meaning
The papal cross refers to the fact that in the year 863 the priory of Sixte (located in a hamlet of Michery) and the village, became a property of Pope Nicolas I.
The V-shaped upper half combines the bend of the Champagne (to which the area belonged in the 12th and 13th century) with a chalk wall. The wall indicates on the one hand the border, on the other the chalk quarries .
The lower half indicates viticulture and agriculture.
