SCHMALFELD
State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Segeberg
Amt : Amt Kaltenkirchen-Land
Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on March 16, 1982. The main figure is the historical arched bridge built around 1800 from granite, which leads over the Schmalfelder Au. This historic bridge has long enjoyed the reputation of an official landmark of the village. The oak leaves symbolise the state forest "Schmalfelder Wohld". The shield colors green and blue are borrowed from the natural landscape and refer to forest and fields on the one hand and to the abundance of running waters in the municipal area on the other.
