Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 14, 1971.

The arms show in the first quarter the wheel of Mainz, as the village belonged to the State of Mainz until 1803. The second quarter shows a mirror, symbolising the mirror factory that was established in the village in 1698. This factiory still exists. The lower part shows a river coming from a wall. This symbolises a spring or fountain, which is a canting element for the last part of the name (-Brunn means fountain).
