Redesignated 758 Bombardment Squadron, Very Heavy on 13 May 1947. Activated in the Reserve on 12 July 1947. Inactivated on 27 June 1949. Redesignated 758 Troop Carrier Squadron, Medium on 24 October 1957. Activated in the Reserve on 16 November 1957. Redesignated: 758 Military Airlift Squadron on 1 January 1967; 758 Tactical Airlift Squadron on 1 March 1972; 758 Airlift Squadron on 1 February 1992. Combat in MTO and ETO, 2 March 1944-26 April 1945. Air transportation for airborne forces and worldwide airlift operations, 1958-.
