944TH MAINTENANCE SQUADRON, US AIR FORCE

History: Constituted as 944 Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, and activated, on 8 December 1966. Organized in the Reserve on 15 March 1967. Discontinued, and inactivated, on 25 March 1968. Activated in the Reserve on 1 January 1972. Redesignated as 944 Field Maintenance Squadron on 1 January 1976. Inactivated on 1 January 1977. Redesignated as 944 Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron on 12 November 1986. Activated in the Reserve on 1 July 1987. Redesignated as 944 Maintenance Squadron on 1 February 1992. Inactivated on 1 October 2007. Activated on 1 July 2017.
