Origin/meaning
In the upper part on a blue background (color that represents the ascent towards God) there is the sun, with the monogram of Jesus Christ Savior of the World (IHS) in the center, symbolizing that Christ it is the light that leads us to Salvation; in the second part, on a gold background, which refers to the main virtue, Faith, there is a tower that symbolizes Mary, invoked as the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, thus recalling the name of the bishop. ' The two parts are divided by three lilies which refer to Santa Rosalia, patroness of Palermo, the archdiocese of origin.
The motto chosen is In omnibus Christus (Christ is all in all) and is taken from the Letter of St. Paul to the Colossians (Cf.3.11).
